Are You Looking for a Holistic Rehab Center?
At Hope Rehab Thailand, we provide a holistic approach to recovery because we believe it is this that will give you the best chance of recovery. We have found it is only by treating you as a unique and whole person, rather than just an ‘addict’, that we can support you through this process and provide you with the tools you need to transform your life.
Limitations of the Medical/Pharmaceutical Approach to Addiction
It would be wonderful if there was some pill we could take that would then remove addiction from our lives. The reality is that even though there are definitely medical advances that make recovery easier, we are likely still a long way from a solution that comes in medication form. The main reason for why the medical/pharmaceutical approach is not sufficient to treat addiction is because this condition involves more than just physical symptoms– it also impacts our emotions, patterns of thinking, social interactions, and spiritual needs. It is the complexity of addiction that means a single solution is unlikely to work. There needs to be a coming together of different solutions within the one program, and this is what a holistic rehab centre approach involves.
Holistic Rehab Center Treatment Explained
The underlying principle of the holistic approach is that it involves treating you as a unique and whole person rather than a bunch of symptoms. It begins with the understanding that as an individual, you have physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs, and all of these will need to be addressed in order for you to transform your life following addiction. It may seem to you that your main problem at the moment is that you are physically addicted to alcohol or drugs, but just stopping these substances may not be enough to ensure a better life. The problem isn’t quitting but staying quit, and this is going to be hard to do unless you are able to build a satisfying life free of addiction.
If you are to have the best chance of recovery, a number of things are going to need to happen. A supervised detox will ensure that you are kept safe and supported while you go through the withdrawal stage of recover – there will also be medications and other treatments available to help keep you comfortable. At this stage of a holistic rehab centre program you can also begin picking up the tools you are going to need to live free of alcohol or drugs as well as dealing with the issues that drove you into addiction in the first place.
- ENVIRONMENT, BIOLOGICAL – detox/withdrawal
- PHYSICAL – fitness/diet
- MENTAL – brain regeneration
- EMOTIONAL PSYCHOLOGICAL – underlying causes/depression/anxiety
